Everyone rents. What changes with the tier is how expensive the gear can get, and what the desk has seen you do with it. A $600 canopy and a $40,000 rig are not the same loan, so they do not sit behind the same door.
Camp
Nothing to pay, monthly or yearly. Listing is free at every level.
Everyone starts here. Free. Rent anything the pool values under $2,500: shade, cooking, lighting, small batteries, tools.

Crew

Why there is a ceiling at all
The gear at the top of the pool belongs to people who work off it: tow-behind generators, production audio, a motorhome someone lives in during the season. A renter at that level has to be able to carry the deposit, hold a policy, and hand it back the way they got it. The tiers are how the pool says that out loud instead of turning people down one at a time.
Listing is free at every level, with no cap
Putting gear up costs nothing at any level, and there is no cap on what you can list: a free member can list a motorhome, an art bus or a 45 kVA generator, and it sits in the pool beside everyone else’s. What the membership changes is the money side. Paid members keep a bigger share of every rental of their own gear, and pay a smaller fee when they rent someone else’s.
Top-level gear, listed free, paid by your own level. The gear’s level and the owner’s level are two different things. List Pro gear as a free Camp member and it goes up for nothing, it is checked the same way and it rents to the same people — you keep 80% of each rental. The same unit listed by a Pro member keeps 90%.
Moving up, and what dues do not buy
Moving up is one message to a founder. The membership is separate from the rental price, the damage waiver and the deposit, and paying for it never skips the checks: an unverified ID means not yet, whatever you have paid.
Your level works on both sides: as a renter it sets the ceiling and the fee you pay, as an owner it sets the share you keep. Nobody else’s level can change what you are paid.
