I'm one of the founders of GearPool, and I'd like you to be one of our first members. **What it is.** A members' pool for festival gear. RVs and trailers, e-bikes and carts, generators and battery power stations, PA and lighting, shade and camp kit. Members list what they own. Members book from members. A small desk in the middle runs everything that makes lending to someone safe: the contract, the deposit, the damage waiver, the photo record at pickup and return, and the payout. **What we're asking.** List one or more units you already own. It stays with you until it's booked. You set the day rate you'd accept and the dates it's free, including the dates you need it yourself. Nothing to buy, nothing to move, nothing to insure up front. **What you get.** - 80% of every rental, paid within three days of the return. The desk keeps 20% for running it. - A deposit sized to your unit, held by the desk before the renter takes it, a renter-paid damage waiver on top, and for anything worth over $5,000 a rental policy the renter buys naming you as loss payee before pickup. - A photo record at every handover, time-stamped, tied to a small NFC tag on your unit. If anything comes back different from how it left, the record shows it. - The right to say no to any booking, and to pull your unit any time it isn't booked. - Access to the pool yourself. Name, mobile, town, what you have. A founder approves you by hand, usually the same day. 2. List a unit at https://gearpool.rentals/list. Photos, replacement value, day rate, dates. 3. A member requests dates. You get a text with the quote. You say yes or no. 4. At pickup, tap the tag on the unit and take the photos. Same at return. 5. You're paid. The deposit goes back to the renter once the return photos check out. **What it costs.** Nothing to join while we are in the members-only phase. The desk's 20% comes out of rentals only. **Vehicles.** RVs and trailers are listed through an established peer-to-peer rental platform's insurance, with the pool managing the listing for you, so every rental is covered from the first day. We'll walk you through it. **The paperwork.** One plain-language agreement covers everything above.
