What to say we are
One line. GearPool is a members' gear pool for festivals and events across California, Oregon and Nevada.
A paragraph. GearPool is a members' pool for festival and event gear — RVs and trailers, generators and battery power, e-bikes, PA, lighting, shade and shelter. Members keep their own gear where it already lives and rent it to each other between events. The desk runs the part nobody enjoys: the agreement, the deposit, the protection, the tap-to-hand-over record on every unit, and the payout. Looking and listing are free. The hub is Grass Valley, California.
The name is one word: GearPool — capital G, capital P, no space. Not Gear Pool, not Gearpool, not GEARPOOL in running text.
The logo
The mark is an ember with a halo: a thing that is warm, and lit while it is in use. Give it clear space of at least half its own width on every side, and put it on ink or on paper — never on a photograph without a dark scrim behind it. Do not recolour it, stretch it, outline it, add a gradient to it, or set the wordmark in another typeface.

Ember is never used for body text and never for lettering on a coloured button — it does not carry enough contrast. Gold on ink is what the buttons use, and it is measured, not eyeballed.
Type
Bricolage Grotesque, 800 weight, for the name and every heading. Inter for everything else. Both are free and open-licensed. Where neither is available, any humanist sans will do — set the name tight, letter-spacing about −0.02em.
Every message the desk sends carries the mark on an ink band, one action as a gold button, and the address printed underneath it in full. If you write to a member from your own mail, use this signature so it is plainly the same company.

Photographs on this site are either a member's own picture of their own unit, or a freely licensed photograph of that kind of gear. If you need a picture for a story, ask — we would rather send you one we know we can give you than have you lift one that belongs to a photographer. Every source is named on the credits page.
